He is survived by: his wife Debra Rose Wheat; his daughter Rebecca Wheat (Matt Hinds); his siblings, Barbara, Lavania, James, Bert, Marvin, Brenda and Connie; and his granddaughter Mahala. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
