It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marvin Gene McWhorter of Berea, Kentucky, who passed away on March 31, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Newland McWhorter and Irene McWhorter; his brothers, Donald and Bobby McWhorter; and his son Marvin Thomas McWhorter.
He is survived by: his wife Diana Clark McWhorter; his children, Trena Payne (Albert), Susan Baker (Richard), Crystal Erwin, Amy McWhorter and Patrick "Scotty" McWhorter; his siblings, William "Pug" McWhorter (Georgia) and Bertha Rampe of California; his grandchildren, Chelsea Payne, Ethan Payne (Megan), Monica McWhorter, Mindy McWhorter, Cody Baker (Nicky), Hannah Baker, Emily Erwin and Ashley Erwin Howard (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Noven, Phoenix, Autumn and Amon.
He enjoyed working with several charities that included the American Heart Association, Relay for Life, and Special Olympics.
