He was predeceased by: his father William McKinley; his children, Jimmy Wayne Harrison and Brenda Sue Harrison; and his siblings, Gilbert Lee, Lloyd, Herbert, Charles Alvin Harrison, Ruth Smallwood and Margaret Smallwood.
He is survived by: his sons, Joe Albert Harrison, Jr. of Berea, KY, Charles Ray Harrison (Betty) of Columbia, Robert Eugene Harrison (Barbara) of Columbia, James Andy Harrison of Berea, KY and Kenneth Douglas Harrison of Berea, KY; his siblings, William McKinley Harrison, Jr. of Beattyville, KY, Martha Jane Conn (Eddie) of Berea, KY and Mary Helen Gregory of Ohio; his grandsons, Cody Harrison (Imee), Robert Harrison (Beth), Brandon Harrison (Jessie) and Tyler Harrison; and his great grandchildren, Galvin, Liam and Quinn Harrison.
