As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Barbara Ann may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Malicote and Esther Marie Malicote; and her brother Larry. She is survived by: her husband Douglas Shirley; her daughter Carri VanZant-Lowery (Steve Johnson); her stepdaughter Karen Shirley (Ken Pierce); her brother Phillip Malicote (Michelle); her niece Sara Johns; and her nephew Matthew Malicote (Kelsey).
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Berea Baptist Church (310 Chestnut St, Berea, KY 40403). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
