He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Hicks and Grace Hicks (Harris); his wife Willadean "Dean" Alexander Hicks; his granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Hicks; and his siblings, Judy Hicks, James Brien Hicks and Charles "Fuzzy" Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, David Thomas Hicks of Calvert City, KY, Jerry Don Hicks of Benton, KY and Tammy Lynn Flippen; his sister Wilmuth "Corky" Cummins Hicks; and his grandchildren, Amy Wood of Gainesville, GA, Chris Wood of Gainesville, GA, Scotty Flippen of Gainesville, GA, Jason Hicks of Paducah, KY, Kelly Hicks of Benton, KY, Jeremy Don Hicks of Benton, KY, Kim Hicks Stamper (Ronnie) of Benton, KY, Kristen Hicks of Benton, KY, Jessica Hicks Kinsey (Kevin) of Benton, KY, Sydney Smith of Gilbertsville, KY, Aaron Smith of Calvert City, KY and Adam Smith of Paducah. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
