Shirley Oswalt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley Oswalt of Benton, Kentucky, born in Crittenden, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2024 at the age of 79. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Iley McConnell and Elva Mae Vinson McConnell; her brother James "Jay" McConnell; and her sister-in-law Dee Hanes. She is survived by: her husband Jim Oswalt; her daughters, Kim Edwards (Rusty) of Benton and Adeena Hardie (Ray) of Fancy Farm; her brother Larry "Pickle" McConnell (Kathy) of Fredonia; her grandchildren, Joshua Hardie (Sara), Cameron Lynn (Ashley), Caleb Hardie and Taylor Edwards (Alyssa); her great grandchild Wyatt Thomas Lynn; and her siblings-in-law, Judy McConnell and Ed Hanes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann (1003 Poplar St, Benton, KY 42025). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in her memory to the Zion's Cause Baptist Church Building Fund, 1522 US 68.
