He was predeceased by: his father John Everett English; his wife Edna Hill English; his daughter Donna English; and his brother Kenneth English. He is survived by: his children, Debbie Prine (Joel) of Paducah, Elisha Washam (Robert) of Benton, John M. English (Anita) of Benton, Ricky English of Benton and David English of Benton; and his sister Emma Lou Irvan of Calvert City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
