He was predeceased by: his wife Jondalyn Hiett Gipson; his children, Stacey Gipson and Scott Gipson; and his siblings, Kathrine Mathis, Mamie Burkeen, Louise Owens, Jimmie Chance, Carl Gipson, Rudell Gipson and Paul Gipson.
He is survived by: his son John Gipson (Michellee Doom Gipson); his siblings, Bobbie Higgins of Benton, Patricia Thompson of Benton and Kenneth Gipson; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Gipson, Pattie Hancock, Kayla Beecham, Chas Gipson and Brittany May. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
