He was predeceased by: his wife Katheren Rudd Rose; and his parents, Aubert V. Rose, Sr. and Sophia Della Meyer Rose. He is survived by: his daughters, Beatrice Ann Johnson (Dennis) of McLeansboro, IL, Esther Ruth Whitley (Tim) of Strawberry Plains, TN and Sarah Elizabeth Goins (John) of McDonough, GA; his sister Barbara Locke (Ronald) of Brewers, KY; and his grandchildren, Andrew Johnson (Sherra), Benjamin Johnson (Dawnelda), Christy Nichols (Rob), Dawn McKown (Brent), Nathan Whitley, Annie Hook, Abbie Parish, Joe Whitley, Naomi Lichty (Jason), Ruth Metzler (Brian) and Bethany Ewell. He is also survived by 34 Great-grandchildren.
