He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Payne and Golden Kelley Payne; his former wife Dorothy Helen Payne; and his daughter Linda Payne Grizzle. He is survived by: his wife Ida Belle Maggard Payne; his sons, Howard Ray Payne of Benham, KY, Jerry Payne (Dovie) of Trenton, GA and Hubert Payne, Jr. of Capron, VA; his brothers, Don Payne of Rockville, MD and Jay Payne (Regina) of Rockville, MD; and his grandchildren, Brenda Payne, Cristal Payne, Jerry Payne Jr., Dorothy Hart, April Brock, Dennis Grizzle, Linda Rose Walker, Chris Payne and Christina Payne Nelson. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
