He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Smith and Gertrude Smith (Thoss); his grandson Michael Sullivan; and his siblings, Camilla Hebel, Gert Sprotts, Ted, Larry and Glenn "Dewey" Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Smith (Messmer); and his children, Debbie Wolfe (Tom), Gary (Bev), Mark (Vicki) and Denny Smith (Charlene). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
