He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Nicholas Sr. and Regina Eibes Cleves; his wife Gertrude; his daughter Rose Ann; his great grandchild Olivia; and his sister Mary (John Cleves).
He is survived by: his children, Monsignor William Cleves, Charles Cleves (Mary Lynn), Marilyn Souders (James), Rosemary Linz (late Douglas), Emily Whaley (Lyle), Frances Galbavy (Steven), Thomas Cleves (Jana), Joan Keutzer (Timothy) and Ann Jain (Ajay); and his brother Charles Cleves. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
