We bid farewell to Douglas Joseph Mertens of Bellevue, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 21, 2025 at the age of 77. Douglas touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mertens and Margaret Mertens. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Mertens; his sons, Bryan Mertens, Sean Mertens (Leslie) and Jason Mertens (Alicia); his grandchildren, Katie, Patrick and Baine (Ciara) of Zach, RJ; and his great grandchildren, Myla and Violet.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Floral Hills Reception Center (5336 Old Taylor Mill Rd, Taylor Mill, KY 41015).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Doug's name may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
