He was predeceased by: his parents, James Louis and Jean Rita Towery McCarty; his stepdaughter Cassie Head; his brother Steve McCarty; and his nephew Corbin McCarty.
He is survived by: his wife June McCarty; his son Josh McCarty (Amanda Brown) of Owensboro; his stepchildren, Jacob Head of Owensboro, Jeremy Head (Jena) of Owensboro, Bridgette Gunn (Paladin) of Owensboro, Michelle Rice (Will) of Bowling Green, DeAnna Broyles of Beech Grove and Savanna Boyd of Delta, Colorado; his siblings, Doug McCarty (Gene) of Louisiana, Tom McCarty (Pam) of Beech Grove, Hugh McCarty (Rob) of Louisville, Bruce McCarty of Uniontown, Lee McCarty of Calhoun, Marian Winstead (David) of Beech Grove, Joyce McCarty of Owensboro, Diana Haynes (David) of Curdsville, Janice Brett of Owensboro and Theresa Payne (Billy) of Sorgho; and his sister-in-law Laquita McCarty of Curdsville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (6143 1st St, Owensboro, KY 42334). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at the St. Raphael Cemetery (6025 Hayden Bridge Rd, Owensboro, KY 42301).
