He was predeceased by: his father James Floyd; his son Travis Wayne Poteet; and his siblings, Bobby, Jack Poteet, Naomi and Leona Vincent.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Poteet; his daughter Sherry Ann Carroll (Jesse) of Bee Spring; his grandson Triston Linwood Penn of Nashville, TN; and his siblings, Julia Duvall of Leitchfield, Carolyn Winstead of Leitchfield and Wendell Poteet (Sandy) of Brownsville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
