She was predeceased by: her parents, James Cecil and Carrie O. McDonald (Taylor); her husband Billy G. Hughes; her son Gregory G. Hughes; and her sister Ruby Jean Cunningham.

She is survived by: her children, Vicki Whitaker (Cecil) and Joseph Hughes. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Kosair Children's Hospital.
