He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobert Monroe and Cynthia L. Monroe (Whitehouse); his former wife Nancy Monroe (Bird); his daughter Chelley Bealer; his brother Franklin Monroe; and his granddaughter Kristan Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Pam Welsh (Persell); his children, Amy (James Alexander), Laura (David Janisko), Nathan Monroe of Louisville, Brian Monroe (Stephanie) of Taylorsville and Wes Welsh (Tara) of Crestwood, Kentucky; his siblings, Carolyn Hazelwood (Tommy) of LaGrange, Betty Monroe of Rockwall, Judy Groves of Crestwood and Randy; his sister-in-law Rachel Monroe of Milton; his sister Patsy; and his brother-in-law Bob Bargo of Louisville. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ransdell Funeral Home - Bedford (441 US-42, Bedford, KY 40006). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
