He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond A. Buchanan and Helen P. Buchanan (Hirst); his wife Berdina Buchanan; his son Kelly Buchanan; and his brothers, Charles Cooper Buchanan, Paul Raymond Buchanan and David Nathan Buchanan.
He is survived by: his daughter Kena Buchanan of Carrollton, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Jordan Buchanan of Louisville and Kendrick Buchanan of Carrollton; his daughter-in-law Crystal Buchanan of Bedford; and his sister Mary Davidson (Harold O'Connor) of Madison, Indiana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the James Buchanan Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
