He is survived by: his children, Philip Phelps (Brenda) of Owensboro, Sheila Abney (Tony) of Beaver Dam, Kenny Phelps of Elizabethtown, Benny Phelps (Becky) of Louisville, Dennis Phelps (Leslie) of Owensboro and Donna Perry (Wade) of Owensboro; his siblings, Gladys Calloway and Mervil Phelps (Rachel); and his nephew Danny Tatum. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson.
