She was predeceased by: her parents, Wavey Clayton "W. C." and Fannie Belle Hendricks Young; her husband Leonis Miller Abney; her daughters, Anita Joann Abney and Tina Susan Brown; her grandson Jason Brown; her brothers, Malcolm Ray Young and Larry Ellis Young; and her son-in-law Roger Brown.
She is survived by: her son Anthony Leonis "Tony" Abney (Sheila); her grandchildren, Angie Leisure (Todd), Chad Abney (Lindsey), Stacy Embrey (Quentin), Jeremy Brown (Stefanie) and Josh Brown; her great grandchildren, Kelsey Wallace (Cory), Kamryn Logsdon (Saulyer), Karlee Leisure, Jade Abney (Jackson Embry), Bode Abney (Chessie Drake), Taylor Stevens (Seth), Teegan Embrey (Bailey Landrum), Tucker Embrey, Hannah Bradley (Drew), Colton Brown (Haeli Browning), Makayla Wathen (Tyler) and Bryson Brown; her great great grandchildren, Maverick, Shepherd Wallace, Walker Embry, Sailor and Duke Wathen; and her sister Ermal Dean Burton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bevil Bros. Funeral Home (226 Louisville Rd, Beaver Dam, KY 42320). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Ohio County.
