He is survived by: his wife Irene Hoover Thorpe of Beattyville; his brother William Thorpe of Georgetown, Kentucky; his granddaughter Joy Tirey Brown (Rian) of Morehead, Kentucky; and his son-in-law Charles Tirey of Beattyville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
