He was predeceased by: his parents, Clayton Pitman and Emma McKinney Pitman; and his sister Blanche Ross. He is survived by: his son James R. Cole of Stanton, Kentucky; and his siblings, Herman Pitman (Brenda) of Beattyville, Vada Cole (Denvil) of Butlerville, Anna Cook of Beattyville, Mavis Jones of South Lebanon and Linda Overbee of Beattyville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
