He is survived by: his children, Megan Wheeler (Robbye) of Brandenburg, Josh Staples (Angela) of Louisville and Matt Staples (Bre) of Payneville; his cousin Shane Staples (Lindsay) of Payneville; his grandchildren, Cash and Kolt Wheeler; his sister Lori Hammond of Payneville; his nephew Nick Hammond; and his great-nieces, Autumn and Carly Hammond.
