He was predeceased by: his mother Alta Long Carter; his brother G. B. Carter; and his granddaughter LaCresha Ann Carter. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Carter; his children, Dana Polivick (Bradley) of Bardwell, Denver Blake Carter of Dallas and Charles Carter (Penny) of Milburn; his brother F. A. Carter (Betty) of Arlington; his grandchildren, Kendra Hayden (Andy), Kirstin Futrell (Chance), Nicole Sonnek (Dylan), Kayla Stephens, Chase Stephens, Spencer Polivick (Bryce), Justin Polivick (Millicent), Karen Polivick, Ariel Flowers (Dakota) and Kaylee Wallace; and his great grandchildren, Payton Hayden, Parker Hayden, Nolan Futrell, Nadalyn Futrell, Kylar Scott, Adalynne Sonnek, Baker Sonnek, Izabella Fuller, Rory Jo Fuller, Declan Comer, Kolton Polivick, Gabbie Flowers, Brantley Flowers and Emberlynn Flowers.
