He was predeceased by: his father Nathan James; his wife Wanda Bartley Ballard; and his siblings, Virginia Wimpsett, Barbara Brown, Donnie, Lee and Tommy Ballard.
He is survived by: his children, James D. Ballard (Pam) of Greenbriar, Travis Ballard (Crissy) of Greenbriar, Michael Ballard of Greenbriar, Peggy Ballard (David) of Bardstown and Ginny Clark (Jeff) of Greenbriar; his siblings, Elaine Dickerson (Joe) of Bardstown, Till Ballard (Betty) of Bardstown, Jody Ballard (Nora) of Bardstown, Jack Ballard (Martha) of Bardstown and Steve Ballard (Pat) of Bardstown; and his close friend Chuck Smith. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
The family request that contributions be made to Hospice of Nelson County.
