We are sad to announce that on February 2, 2025, at the age of 73, William Donald Dones of Bardstown, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carl "Bill" and Carmel Faye Vowels Dones; and his brother Vernia Lee Dones. He is survived by: his wife Lora Faye Shuffitt Dones; his sons, William Eric (Tina) and Nathan Cory (Amy); his grandchildren, Shelby Dones-Bullock (Xavier), Haley Dones, Blake Dones, Cory Dones, Lora Dones, EmmaRae Spencer Smith (Koda), Jacob Spencer and Lauren Riddell; and his siblings, Hazel Jackson, Odell Cobb (Roy), Wanda Hayden, Juanita Rogers, Linda Greenwell (Kenny), Ann Avis and Mike Dones (Connie).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Alzheimer's Association.
