He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chester Devers Sr. and Edna Alene Houck Devers; his siblings, Edwin, Dessa Ann Evans, Barbara Fay Smith, Celie Cheser and Pat De St. Jean; his son Joey; and his son-in-law Dennis Wheatley.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Mattingly Devers; his children, Mark, Kim Wheatley (Stephen Hibbs), Shelly Eleson (Chad) and Dawn Wheeler (Kelley); and his grandchildren, Alexis Devers, Aidan Wheatley, Carson and Easton Eleson.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A prayer was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home and Cremation Services (1475 New Shepherdsville Rd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Saint Joseph Proto-Cathedral (310 W Stephen Foster Ave, Bardstown, KY 40004).
