He is survived by: his wife Ann Early Hatton Sutherland; his children, Ann Davidson Watts (David) of Snowmass, CO and Robert Edward "Chip" Sutherland (Nora) of Glenview; his siblings, Betty Lou Rogers of Bardstown and Dan Sutherland (Sue) of Taylorsville; and his granddaughters, Abigail Sutherland, Lucy Sutherland, Lilly Sutherland, Hannah Watts and Hattie Watts.
