Joseph Spalding Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Joseph Spalding of Bardstown, Kentucky. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Archibald Spalding and Edna Bowling Spalding; his wife Shirley Culver Spalding; and his siblings, Emily Spalding, Elizabeth Bowling, Lucy Simpson, Peggy Belcher, S. U. and Charles Spalding.
He is survived by: his daughters, Janet Dwyer (Pat) of Louisville, Judy Breitenstein (Bruce) of Louisville and Joanie Mudd (David) of Bardstown; and his niece Lisa Higdon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:15 PM at the Barlow Funeral Home (2675 E John Rowan Blvd, Bardstown, KY 40004). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto - Cathedral (310 W Stephen Foster Ave, Bardstown, KY 40004). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the St. Joseph's Cemetery (812 N 3rd St, Bardstown, KY 40004).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral for masses said in the names of Leo and Shirley Spalding or Hospice of Nelson County.
