With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Eugene Fawkes of Bardstown, Kentucky, born in Olney, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Marshall Eugene. He is survived by: his wife Sue Damron Fawkes; his daughters, Susan Sweat (Steve) of Bardstown and Rachel Harney (Matt) of Cynthiana; his siblings, Marsha Steen of Colorado, Cindy Fawkes of Jacksonville, IL. and Michael Fawkes of Jacksonville, IL.; and his grandchildren, Daniel James Sweat, Grace Elizabeth Sweat, Conner Harney and Cooper Harney.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Bardstown Baptist Church or the Nelson County Humane Society.
