He was predeceased by: his parents, Dallas Merida and Mary Ellen Powell Merida; and his siblings, Genevia Smith, Delsie Baker, Emanuel Ray and Eugene.
He is survived by: his wife Callie Smith; his stepson Rodney Merida; and his sister Drucilla Merida Clark of Land. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
