He was predeceased by: his father Everett Overton; his sister Helen Sweet; his stepsister Alice Slaven; and his brothers, Adam Slaven and Jerry Overton.
He is survived by: his mother Vela Lawson Slaven; his sisters, Lola Davidson and Ella Rose; and his stepbrother Ronald Slaven. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
