He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Mills and Patty Jackson Mills; his wife Axie Mills; his daughters, Erma Jewell Hubbs and Audrey Abner; his son-in-law Eddie Evans; and his siblings, Bess Smith, Opal Jackson, Rev. Lester, Rev. Virgil, Earl, Orville and Wesley Mills.
He is survived by: his children, Preston Mills (Peggy) of Cranes Nest, Zandall Mills (Jayne) of Laurel County, Zelma Evans of Columbia, TN and Annette Broughton (Randy) of Cannon; his sons-in-law, Jake Hubbs of Rockholds and Carl Wayne Abner of Cranes Nest; and his grandchildren, Karen Hatch, Steve May, Brandi Bolin, Preston Lee Mills, Amy Jo Linn, Miranda Russell, Dawson Broughton, Jerry Wayne Abner, Leona Broughton and Felecia Sweatt.
