He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy "Duggs" Black; and his brother Jimmy Black. He is survived by: his mother Daisy Lee Hurst Patterson of Corbin; his wife Jacqueline Hembree of Barbourville; his children, Vanessa Lane (Adam) of Speedwell, TN, Tonya Womack (Jeff) of Tazewell, TN, Sonya Dray of Harrogate, TN, Christopher Black (Brittany) of Speedwell, TN, Leah Messer (Patrick) of Girdler, Eric Black of Corbin, Mariah Black of Corbin and Jerry Reynolds of Corbin; his sister Shirley Black of Barbourville; and his niece Malinda Black of Louisville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
