He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy C. Bays and Billie Joe Smith Bays; his brother Gary Wayne Bays; and his brother-in-law Larry Smith. He is survived by: his wife Betty Bays of Barbourville; his daughter Donielle Crawford (Brian) of Barbourville; his siblings, Brenda Sue Herring of Barbourville, Gail Smith of North Judson, IN, Debbie Carnes (Wilbur) of Barbourville, Beverly Mayer of Barbourville, Rosanna Bays Wilson of Ardmore, Alabama, Ronnie Bays (Yuko) of Okinawa and Ricky Bays of Barbourville; his grandchildren, Ellis Brian Crawford and Natalie Ray Crawford; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Bays, John Bays, Adam Bays, Paul Bays, Chris Carnes, Sean Smith, Brandon Wilson, Billy Mayer, Natasha Carnes, Tessa Barrett, Paige Barrett, Haley Bays and Shannon Smith.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of the Knox Funeral Home (325 Knox St, Barbourville, KY 40906).
