He was predeceased by: his parents, Burchell Smith and Maude Smith; his siblings, Doris Broughton (Pete), Leonard Smith (Mary), B. R. Smith (Cledie) and James Smith (Betty); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Smith and Coleman Messer.
He is survived by: his children, Curtis Smith (Deanna) of Fort Mill, SC, Tina Smith (Chris Hamilton) of New Boston, MI and Aaron Smith (Tammy) of Nesbit, MS; his siblings, Dorothy Messer of Hazel Park, MI, Betty Miracle (Charles) of Knoxville, TN, Geneva Horner (David) of Tampa, FL, Paul Smith (Zelma) of Davie, FL, Aaron Smith (Mabel) of Murfreesboro, TN, H. R. Smith (Emily) of Bimble and William "Clifford" Smith of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandchildren, Ashley Bonomo (Sam), Curtis Smith Jr. (Claire), Aiden Smith and Tyler Smith.
