He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Smith and Reathy Childres Smith; his siblings, Earl Dean Smith, Jr., John H. Smith, Harold Smith, Burchell Smith, Lewis Smith, Melvin Smith and Thelma Merida; his brother-in-law Curtis Merida; and his granddaughter Michelle Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Edna Goodin Smith (Annetta); his sons, John Clarence Smith of Bimble, Kentucky. and Jason Billy Smith of Bimble, Kentucky.; his sisters, Artie Mae Smith Stacy (J. C. Stacy) of Louisville and Alta Grubb of Big Rapids, Michigan.; his grandchildren, Crystal Gail Smith Cobb of London, Johnathon Witt of Smithville and Virginia; his niece Melanie Shouse (David) of Lexington; and his brothers, Ken Merida and Lonnie Collett.
In lieu of flowers, the Smith family has asked that donations be made to the New Bethel Baptist Church, Cranes Nest, Kentucky in memory of Billy.
