He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Jarrell and Mary Boyd Jarrell. He is survived by: his wife Minnie Kidd Jarrell; his children, Paul Jarrell of Banner, Kentucky, Cindy Boyd (Franklin) of Banner, Debbie Hall of Paintsville and Judy Spears (Jerry) of Duncan; his grandchildren, Brandon, Melinda, Timmy, Ronnie Lee, Penny, Jimmy Dean and Very; and his close friend Lora Penn.
