He was predeceased by: his children, Kossuth M. Mitchell II and Kristi Lynn Cheatham. He is survived by: his daughters, Sherry Roy of Santa Rosa, CA, Lenore Pollard (Bobby) of Hindman, KY and Beth Shafer (Chris) of Statesboro, GA.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
