With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Vernon Arthur Clark of Ashland, Kentucky, born in Ironton, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 12, 2024 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Clark and Clara Mae Fisher Sloan; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Clark and Nicole Stone; his sister Mary Jane Clark; and his sister-in-law Beatrice Frazier.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Goble Clark; his sons, William F. Clark and Vernon L. Clark; his siblings, Johnda Holbrook (Biff), Julie Clark and Mark Clark; his siblings-in-law, Leonard West, Elizabeth Stevens and Dottie Rhodes (Charles); and his grandchildren, Tiffany Rowe (David), Cameron Clark, Karlee Shannon, Stephen Clark, Seth Stroming and Vernon Aaron Black Clark. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Steen Funeral Homes - Central Ave Chapel (1501 Central Ave, Ashland, KY 41101). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Woodland Cemetery (824 Lorain St, Ironton, OH 45638).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Vernon's honor to St. Jude Children's Hospital, a cause dear to his heart.
