He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Brown and Mildred Wingler Brown; his son-in-law David Gifford; and his siblings, Ray, Teddy Brown, Linda Parks and Judy Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Gay Redmon Brown of Ashland; his children, Mark Brown (Lisa) of Rush and Stephanie Gifford of Catlettsburg; his grandchildren, Dylan Gifford (Madeline), Dustin Gifford, Sophia Gifford (Takoda Brown) and Nicole Brown; and his sisters, Carolyn Cook (Harold) of Florida, Diana Woolum of Michigan and JerriLynn Daniels (Pete) of Michigan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel (3409 13th St, Ashland, KY 41102). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Roy's memory to Rush Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM, P.O. Box 1206, Ashland, KY 41105-1206.
