He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis B. Cathey and Bertha Bruce Cathey; and his brother William Larry Cathey. He is survived by: his wife Beverly Martin Cathey of Ashland; his daughters, Janet Lynn Cathey Woods (Tim) of Catlettsburg, KY and Ginger Leigh Cathey Daniels (Bryan) of McKinney, TX; and his grandchildren, James Brett Woods, Timothy Andrew Woods, Kristen Elise Daniels, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Daniels and Graham Elliot Daniels.
