He was predeceased by: his son Jonathan Tyler Shelton; his mother Lillian Grace Shelton (Yates); his siblings, Jim Melvin Shelton, Peggy Carol Prewitt (Bobby Prewitt) and Joyce Harriett Howard (Clifford Howard); and his brother-in-law Ron Dixon.
He is survived by: his son Charles Wayne Shelton II (Vanessa Dawn Shelton) of Cannonsburg; his granddaughters, Scarlett Grace and Violet Claire; his sister Linda Elmo Dixon; his nieces and nephews, Robin Sherry Prewitt, Susie Jo Prewitt, Cindy Hilbert (Tom Hilbert), Stacey Ann Turvey (Chuck Turvey), Stephanie Ann Sutphin (Kevin Sutphin), Sonia Howard, Bobby Allen Prewitt (Carrie Prewitt), Kevin Howard (Mary Jo Howard), Keith Howard and Chip Howard; and his friend John David Lambert. He is also survived by many cousins, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
