He is survived by: his children, Erma, Lloyd, Lawrence (Toby), Thomas, Harry, Ruth, Gwendolyn (Juanita), Darla Ewing (Richard) of Ashland, KY, Clarissa Etter-Smith (Steve), Jamma Etter of Winston Salem, NC and Candy Keeton (James) of Lexington, KY.; his grandchildren, Kourtney Broughton (Chad) of Winston Salem, NC, Patrick Ewing (Shamra) and James C. Etter II of Winston Salem, NC.; and his great grandchildren, Haleigh Jackson of Winston Salem, NC, Elias Jackson of Winston Salem, NC and Harley Ewing of Ashland, KY. He is also survived by nieces and nephews who were their "children".
