He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Sanders and June Anderson Sanders; and his brother Eugene Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Gatling Sanders of Ashcamp, KY; his children, Alan Clinton Sanders of Pikeville, KY, Cheri Gortney of Ashcamp, KY and Kimber Sanders of Ashcamp, KY; his grandchildren, Tony Gortney, Amity Varney, Joshua Sanders, Jackie Blackburn and Samantha Leslie; his great grandchildren, Bell Gortney, Gracie Gortney, Colten Varney, Lincoln Varney, Daniel Leslie, Gabrie Leslie, Sarah Leslie, Coralee Leslie, Chelsea Blackburn and George Blackburn; and his great great grandchildren, Ivry Newsome and Oaklynn Newsome.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Hylton Freewill Baptist Church (12080 Elkhorn Creek, Ashcamp, KY 41512). A masonic service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, March 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
