He was predeceased by: his parents, Larkin Short and Drucilla Ritchie Short; and his siblings, Jim Noble, Clarence Noble, Amel Short, Elbert Short, Liz Fields, Ollie Roberts, Alpha Wimberly and Ruby Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Fairlena Short; his sons, Perry Short (Kathy) and Patrick Short (Casi) of Viper, KY; his grandchildren, Nicholas Short (Christen) and Mary Short; his great grandchildren, Caroline and Chevelle; and his nephew Friends.
