He was predeceased by: his parents, James Abner and Grace Abner (Bruner); his wife Phyllis; and his siblings, Mitchell, Clarence, Robert, James, Jr., Claude "Bo" Abner and Ruby Abner.
He is survived by: his son Troy Allen Abner of Artemus; his sisters, Amanda Miller of Artemus and Sinda Shelton of Artemus; and his sisters-in-law, Priscilla Abner of Barbourville and Carolyn Abner of Artemus.
