He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Ray and Velma Dodson Burgess Sr.; and his siblings, Ramona Peggy Wheeler, Jesse Ray Burgess Jr., James R. Burgess and J. C. Burgess.
He is survived by: his son Shannon Burgess of Paducah; and his siblings, Charles Burgess and Becky Morgan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Berkley Cemetery (KY-121, Cunningham, KY 42035).
