He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Wayne Watts and Ora Mae Simons Watts; his wife Nete Watts; his sisters, Ruth Puckett, Lilian Pruitt and Mae Barner; his daughter-in-law Dora Watts; and his grandson Christopher Watts.

He is survived by: his sister Ethel Dillon of Clinton; and his children, John R. Watts of Sheridan, Illinois, Jackie Bell (Jim) of Milburn and Jayne Goldsmith (Lewis) of Milburn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
