He was predeceased by: his son Stephen G. Sledge; and his brother Ferril Sledge. He is survived by: his children, Timothy M. Sledge (Jill), Elaine Sledge and Mila Sledge; his grandchildren, Miles Sledge (Sarah), Erica Sledge and Alex Sledge; his great grandchild Elizabeth Sledge; his sisters-in-law, Chloenita Simpson (Norval) and Barbara Sledge; his nieces, Michelle and Sheila; and his nephew Nelson.
